‘Decentering Whiteness’ discussion group, Sundays Oct 8 & 22, from 1-3p
White supremacy has become more overt & now actively stoked by the highest political office. How do we have a loving, real, compassionate conversation, esp those of us from a white context, about this rising threat? Why do we give “the system” the benefit of the doubt against the testimony of people of color? Why do we blindly obey the law rather than questioning the justice of the legal system? How do we hear the pain of the oppressed, rather than first sympathizing with white fragility? How do we decenter our own whiteness, so that we can live in kinship and community? Pastor Jin will moderate; special thanks to Melody Johnson for organizing – please sign up with her. All welcome.
