New art “She Wore Green Velvet” on display in central staircase thru Jan.
In his latest work, “She Wore Green Velvet,” our own Erik Olson portrays the Mississippi watershed as Mother Earth. Chemicals cause the land to look like green velvet when viewed from above during growing season. These chemicals (and tons of solid waste) then flow into our waterways becoming poison, wrapping Mother Earth—and the lives that depend on her—like a death shroud.
